Correspondence

The secretary had written to Downlands Cycles to thank them for their 2 x £25.00 vouchers given as prizes at the 2009 raffle. The meeting was reminded of the 3 month expiry date.

Chairmans remarks

peter Mason spoke of some disappointment with the Christmas meal held at The Five Bells, Eastry. A good Meets rendezvous but should be reconsidered for the 2010 Christmas event.

Ron Walton added that the Brents Christmas meal was well received.

Memorial Book

Len Stevens agreed to establish as far as possible a list of deceased members for submission to next meeting. Entry methods and format to be subsequently considered by the committee.

Events

Jean Bomber (a) confirmed the date for the Picnic Meet at her Tankerton Summer residence, in accordance with the Tide Tables: Wednesday 14th July 2010; (b) reminded the meeting of the need to make early preparations for 40th Aniversary Meet in 2011.

AOB

(a) Membership secretary. Owen Harden agreed to take this office, previously held between Peta Masey and Leslie Osborne. The sec, to modify the membership forms.

(b) The President spoke of the major cycle route work being constructed in S.E.London and the Thames Gateway, but regretted a lack of people taking up cycling more seriously.
