Welcome to the Website of the Potterers Cycling Club

The Potterers Cycling Club was formed in 1971 with the aim of providing a means by which cyclists could meet up at a Public House in the East Kent countryside for a drink and a chat. The idea has proved immensely successful with the Club growing in numbers from the original Four Founding Members to a membership of approximately 80 today. The number of meets has also increased from the occasional meets initially to regular weekly meets today. The Club has alternate Tuesday meets at pubs in the North Downs south of Canterbury, a meet every Wednesday in country pubs within easy cycling distance of Faversham, and a meet every Thursday in country pubs within easy cycling distance of Thanet. In addition there are three Sunday meets each month. The membership is mainly of retired cyclists and the conversation at the various pubs is normally very lively with virtually every topic, including cycling, being discussed. The Club Magazine, "Pottering Around" is sent to all members and produced quarterly.
